Koi Spirits of Moon and Sea
In a still pond, two koi circle the reflection of the full moon, one dark as the deep water and flecked with gold, one pale as moonlight. Like the moon and the sea, they are bound to each other: one pulls, the other follows, and together they keep the world in balance. The red seal reads 縁 (en), the Japanese word for a bond that was meant to be. Part of the Sumi and Gold collection, where the art of Japanese ink (sumi-e, 墨絵) meets gold.
